How reviews work

Reviews only help you choose if they are real. Here is exactly how they reach the site and what we do with them.

Who can leave a review

Each caterer gets their own QR code and short link. They add them to their quotes, invoices and thank-you message, and give them to all their customers, not only the happy ones.

A QR code on the tables is allowed. Reviews left that way are marked "guest", to tell them apart from the families who organised the event.

What a review contains

  • a rating from 1 to 5 and a text;
  • the person's first name, the occasion and the month of the event;
  • if they wish: their role (organiser or guest) and the number of guests.

No account is needed. Full names, addresses and phone numbers are never shown.

Checked before publication

Every review waits for approval. We refuse reviews that insult, give personal information, talk about something other than the service, or seem fake. An honest negative review is published.

What the caterer can and cannot do

  • They can reply publicly to a review.
  • They can report a review they believe is fake; we check before deciding.
  • They cannot edit, hide, choose or reorder reviews.
  • They cannot offer gifts or discounts in exchange for a review.

The rating shown

  • With no review, the page says "New".
  • With one or two reviews, we show the reviews and their number, without an average.
  • From 3 reviews, we show the average with the number of reviews.

Families’ favourite

The “Families’ favourite” badge appears once a caterer has at least 5 published reviews with an average of at least 4.7 out of 5. It is computed automatically: it cannot be bought and it disappears if the average drops.

What we do not do

We copy no reviews from Google, Facebook or Instagram. We do not sell better ratings, and list order does not depend on payment.

If you think a review is fake or want yours removed, write to us.
